Ingredients:
- Green peas............................1 cup ( soaked overnight and cooked in a cooker till one whistle)
- Cumin powder.......................1 tsp
- Paprika...................................1/2 tsp (you can use regular chilly powder if u want it more spicy)
- Turmeric powder................... a pinch
- Coreander powder..................a generous pinch
- Rice powder...........................a pinch
- Chaat masala..........................a pinch(optional)
- Salt..........................................1/2 tsp
- Oil...........................................1 - 2 tsp oil(any oil of your choice)
- Water.......................................as required, just to cook the peas half way.
- Cook the soaked peas with very less amount of water till done(for one whistle).
- Drain any excess amount of water.
- Place the peas in a mixing bowl. Add the oil and toss to coat.
- Then toss it with the rest of the ingredients and mix well.
- Allow it to rest for 10 mins and transfer the mixture into a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Spread it evenly.
- Bake it in a pre heated oven at 350 F for 15- 20 mins.
- Let it cool and enjoy your crispy, crunchy snack with a hot cup of tea :)
- If you need a quick fix snack for the tea, please go ahead and use the frozen peas, which will not require the step of soaking dry peas.
- You can try variations of different spices as well.
- Chickpea is a fabulous substitute for greenpeas with this recipe.
